Vaccines: This won't be on CNN
The Swedes micturate into the punch bowl of mania once more
New evidence out of Sweden shows not only the waning strength of vaccines to prevent transmission and severe outcomes, but demonstrates that with time, the vaccine can make it more likely you’ll get Covid.
Transmission effectiveness:
A Lancet pre-print, Effectiveness of Covid-19 Vaccination Against Risk of Symptomatic Infection, Hospitalization, and Death Up to 9 Months: A Swedish Total-Population Cohort Study, found that Pfizer vaccine effectiveness wanes from 92% during days 15-30, then down to 47% for days 121-180. After 7 months “no effectiveness could be detected”.
For AstraZeneca did even worse. Effectiveness “was generally lower and waned faster, with no effectiveness detected from day 121 [four months] and onwards”. In fact, the effectiveness the cite was negative 19%.
Severe outcomes effectiveness:
Pretty good at 89% for days 15-30, down to 42% from day 181 (six months). And again, a number of subgroups showed negative efficacy against severe outcomes. Vaccinated people had worse symptoms.
