He's too intelligent not to know he's brutalising the truth

Discovery CEO Adrian Gore has mandated all of his employees get vaccinated against Covid-19. In his latest communication to members, he has relied on an internal study to make a variety of claims about the effectiveness and safety of vaccines.

I challenge him to respond to the following regarding claims on vaccine effectiveness.

In short, I ask why he hasn’t addressed robust evidence that vaccinations do not stop spread; in some populations it is causing higher spread; and in one study it is now even showing that having the vaccine increases the chances of worse symptoms after a period of time in some populations. You read that right. Worse.

Here goes…

Dear Adrian

He says: “Our data shows conclusively that vaccination works”. Perhaps. But it begs three questions.

First, will you share all of your data and methodology? Your “For the scientifically minded, the study’s methodology is incredibly robust,” doesn’t assist. You may be aware of the replication crisis that has plagued academia for ages. Top scientists are frequently not able to repeat studies done by other top scientists, even using the same data obtained from peer reviewed journals. You’ll surely agree we should not take your word for it?

Second, why only your “your data”?

Third, why no mention of natural immunity? We know natural immunity confers better protection than the vaccines. In particular, natural immunity is powerful at preventing transmission. The “Israeli study” showed this potently. The question this begs is, why not, at a minimum, let people show prior infection instead of forcing the vaccine on them?

Here are several robust studies - with published methodologies - that contradict your study.

(1) A Lancet pre-print, Effectiveness of Covid-19 Vaccination Against Risk of Symptomatic Infection, Hospitalization, and Death Up to 9 Months: A Swedish Total-Population Cohort Study. [From my earlier post: Vaccines: This won’t be on CNN]

This found that Pfizer vaccine effectiveness wanes from 92% during days 15-30, then down to 47% for days 121-180. After 7 months “no effectiveness could be detected”.

For AstraZeneca did even worse. Effectiveness “was generally lower and waned faster, with no effectiveness detected from day 121 [four months] and onwards”. In fact, the effectiveness the cite was negative 19%.

Severe outcomes effectiveness:

Pretty good at 89% for days 15-30, down to 42% from day 181 (six months). And again, a number of subgroups showed negative efficacy against severe outcomes. Vaccinated people had worse symptoms.

(2) A startling study, Increases in COVID‑19 are unrelated to levels of vaccination across 68 countries and 2947 counties in the United States, in the European Journal of Epidemiology has found no correlation between the uptake of vaccination and cases. [From my piece on the Daily Friend]

This chart is incredible. A horizontal line would suggest zero correlation between rate of vaccination in population and Covid cases. A line sloping upward left to right suggests an increase in cases with increased population vaccination. The authors don’t say if the latter is statistically significant. But boy oh boy, does this cast doubt on the wisdom of your use of the word “conclusively”.

As the authors put it, “At the country-level, there appears to be no discernible relationship between percentage of population fully vaccinated and new COVID-19 cases in the last 7 days”. And the same applies to countries: “At the country-level, there appears to be no discernible relationship between percentage of population fully vaccinated and new COVID-19 cases in the last 7 days (Fig. 1). In fact, the trend line suggests a marginally positive association such that countries with higher percentage of population fully vaccinated have higher COVID-19 cases per 1 million people. Notably, Israel with over 60% of their population fully vaccinated had the highest COVID-19 cases per 1 million people in the last 7 days”.

(3) Public Health England - who sinisterly recently changed their name to UK Health Security Agency - has shown for months that adults are getting Covid at a HIGHER rate if they are vaccinated.

Hard to believe? That’s only because it is not on CNN. But here’s the data.

It gets worse. People who get the virus after having both shots obtain less potent natural immunity than they would have if they hadn’t had the shots. As they put it below, “N antibody levels appear to be lower in individuals who acquire infection following 2 doses of the vaccination”. That is, vaccines are reducing natural immunity.

Video of the day: Here’s a fantastic explanation of why vaccine mandates make no sense. Dr. Jay Bhattacharya, a professor of medicine who studies epidemiology at Stanford University, argues that recent studies indicate that the mRNA vaccines produced by Moderna and Pfizer do not contribute to herd immunity.

To conclude, I request the following:

  1. Will you share your raw data and methodology? Until then, a good scientist will disregard your claims.

  2. Will you comment on these quality studies I’ve provided above that contradict your stance?

  3. Can you explain the reason for vaccine mandates if, as the above suggests, there is at the very least un-ignorable evidence that they don’t prevent spread? Doesn’t this make it a personal decision?

  4. Have you applied the cautionary principle and rules of informed consent that we have relied on for decades?

  5. *And added in an edit to reflect a reader comment*: Will you show us data for the 14 days immediately post-vaccination? Why do you exclude those?

In my next post, I’ll deal with “incredibly safe”.

*Bloody Substack won’t let me delete the image below!!! Oh well. It’s worth another look.

I would like them to show the data for the 0-14 days post vaccination, in all their claims in the email they sent out, they very carefully added after 14 days with every stat. The questions are how many people got covid in the 0-14 days and how bad were their cases.
